A single shaft of light cutting through deep darkness onto cracked stone

The Gospel

He Came to Seek and Save

This is not a new story. This is the story.

“The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10 · cf. 1 John 3:8
The Promise — Genesis 3:15

Chapter One

It Started in a Garden

Genesis 3 — the fall. Sin entered. Humanity was separated from God. But in the same moment of judgment, God made a promise.

Genesis 3:15 — “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

The first prophecy. The first hint of rescue. God announced his plan to destroy the enemy before the dust from the fall had settled.

The Cross — John 19:30

The Long Arc

It Is Finished

From the cross, Jesus said three words that closed a wound thousands of years old. John 19:30 — “It is finished.”

What was finished? The sacrifice required to redeem humanity from the sin of the garden. The debt was not forgiven — it was paid. In full. By him.

What began with a promise in Genesis 3 was completed on a Roman cross. The enemy did strike his heel. But Christ crushed his head. The plan God announced in the garden was always leading here.

It is finished. Not it is postponed. Not it is partially done. Finished.

The Pursuit — Luke 15

Branch

The Father Is Looking for You

Luke 15 — the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, the Lost Son. But reframe the lens.

This is not about the value of what was lost. It is about the relentless pursuit of the One doing the looking. The shepherd leaves the ninety-nine. The woman lights every lamp and sweeps every corner. The father sees his son while he is still far off — and runs.

The story was never about what was lost. It was always about who was looking.

The Rescue — Exodus 3

Branch

Salvation Is Nothing New

Exodus 3:7–8 — God heard the cry of slaves and came down to deliver them. He parted seas. He made a way where there was no way.

Romans 11 — Jew and Gentile grafted into one tree. This salvation was always the plan, and it always included you.

He delivered them from Egypt in a day — and he can deliver you the same way.

Creation — Romans 1:20

Smaller branch

Written in Creation

Romans 1:20 — since the beginning, God’s invisible qualities have been clearly seen through what he made. His power. His order. His care.

Night sky. Stone. Deep water. Creation has always been pointing to him.

The Heart — Mark 7:21

The Problem

The Problem Is Sin

Jesus said it plainly. Evil doesn’t come from outside us. It comes from within. Mark 7:21–23.

We are not broken by circumstance. We are bent by nature.

This is why behavior modification fails. We don’t need to be improved — we need to be reborn.

Center of Gravity — Romans 5:8

The Answer

The Power of the Cross

Romans 5:8 — while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He didn’t wait for cleanup. He came into the mess.

His blood, death, and resurrection are powerful enough to reach every part of a person — spirit, soul, and body.

This isn’t religion. This is rescue.

The Walk — 1 Peter 2:9

The Response

Repentance & the Walk

To receive this gift, we turn. Repentance is not self-punishment — it is a change of direction.

We walk in humility — not shame, but surrender. 1 Peter 2:9 — moved from darkness into light.

He delivers us from Egypt in a day. But as we walk with him, he removes Egypt from within us. The exodus is both an event and a journey.

Every Knee — Philippians 2:10

The Destination

Every Knee Will Bow

Philippians 2:10–11 — every knee will bow, every tongue confess.

Some will bow in wonder and love, having seen his power and chosen him. Others will bow when mercy has given way to justice.

John 3:16 gets all the attention — but read 17–21. Light came into the world. Some ran toward it. Some ran from it. The difference is everything.

We love John 3:16. But don’t stop reading.

This is not a threat. It is an invitation with a deadline.
